NEW YORK, NY — July 13, 2026 — The Charles H. Revson Foundation today announced the appointment of Sasha Beder-Schenker as Senior Program Officer for Urban Affairs and Education. She will join the Foundation on August 3, where she will help shape and lead Revson’s grantmaking and strategic initiatives to strengthen New York City’s civic life, institutions, and systems.
Beder-Schenker joins Revson with a distinctive combination of experience spanning New York City government, national philanthropy, and civic engagement. Most recently, she served as Director at Freedman Consulting, where she oversaw a multi-million-dollar grantmaking strategy for a national philanthropic client focused on strengthening Jewish communal life and combating antisemitism. Previously, she launched and led What Works Plus, a national funder collaborative that brought together philanthropy, government, and nonprofit partners to advance effective implementation of federal infrastructure, climate, and economic development investments.
Before entering philanthropy, Beder-Schenker held a series of leadership roles in New York City government, including positions with NYC Census 2020 and the Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit, working to reduce homelessness and expand access to housing, health care and other key city services. Earlier in her career, she worked in civic engagement and voter participation, including leadership roles on national and statewide political campaigns. She is a graduate of Brandeis University.

At Revson, Beder-Schenker will help guide the Foundation’s Urban Affairs and Education portfolio, supporting investments that strengthen civic life and improve how New York City functions. Her work will include identifying and supporting leaders, organizations, and ideas that advance more effective institutions, expand opportunity, and foster a more vibrant and resilient city.
