Grant Seekers

We accept inquiries only through the Foundation’s grants portal, linked directly below. Please note that an extremely small percentage of grants originate from these inquiries and that we will contact you within two weeks if we wish to know more about the proposed project. Look at our Grant Seeker FAQs in the section below. Given the volume of inquiries, we are unable to respond to each letter individually.

Grant Seeker FAQs

What types of projects does Revson support?

We support public charities, primarily in New York City and Israel, in our areas of work: Biomedical Research, Education, Jewish Life, and Urban Affairs. Please review the website section related to your interest or scan our grants list for an idea of the size, scope and type of Revson funding.

Please note that we do not fund endowments, capital or building campaigns, fundraising dinners, or films. We cannot support individuals directly; Revson fellowships are awarded and administered by sponsoring institutions.

How does my organization apply for funding?

Applications are by invitation. We accept grant inquiries on our grant portal through this link. You will be asked to provide basic information about the project you propose, including budget, and about the organization you represent. There are no fixed deadlines. Please become familiar with Our Work and Our Approach sections before submitting and be aware that only a small percentage of inquiries progress to the application stage.

What happens to grant inquiries?

You will receive an email acknowledging submission. If we wish to learn more about the proposed project, a member of the Revson staff will contact you within two weeks. Given the volume of inquiries, we cannot respond to each individually.

How do I apply for a Revson fellowship?

Revson-funded fellowships are administered by their sponsoring organization and the Foundation has no role in selecting recipients. Please contact the sponsoring organization for information about the application process for the fellowship it administers. For more information on the Charles H. Revson Senior Fellowship in Biomedical Science or the BWF PDEP/Revson Scholars award click here.

How do I meet with Foundation staff?

Revson has a small staff and is not able to hold informational meetings. Staff members may choose to contact an applicant after reading an inquiry submitted on the Foundation’s grants portal.

Can I meet with Foundation staff regarding my organization?

Given our small staff, we regret that we are unable to hold informational meetings with prospective grantees. Upon receipt of a letter of inquiry, staff may choose to contact applicants.

What if I still have questions?

For questions not addressed in these FAQs, please please send your inquiries to info@revsonfoundation.org; they will be directed to the appropriate staff member.

Is the Revson Foundation affiliated with Revlon cosmetics?

Charles H. Revson was the founder of Revlon, but the Foundation is not affiliated with the company. The number for Revlon Customer Care is 1-800-473-8566.
