NYC Green Fund—City Parks Foundation and Partnerships for Parks have announced the recipients of the spring 2026 NYC Green Fund Grassroots grant program, providing $397,000 in funding to 60 community groups volunteering in parks and open spaces across New York City.
Founded during the COVID‑19 pandemic, the NYC Green Fund is a pooled grant program designed to advance green space equity and support grassroots groups caring for neighborhood parks—particularly in Environmental Justice communities facing disproportionate environmental and public health burdens. To date, the Grassroots program has awarded more than $2 million to community-led organizations citywide.
The Spring 2026 grants, ranging from $1,000 to $30,000, will support projects focused on park stewardship, tree canopy expansion, environmental action, youth development, health and wellness, and arts and culture. Funded initiatives address challenges such as extreme heat, flooding, pollution, and food insecurity while strengthening local leadership and community resilience in under-resourced neighborhoods.
The NYC Green Fund is made possible through generous private support from a group of philanthropic partners, including The Charles H. Revson Foundation, whose commitment helps ensure that volunteer‑led park groups have the resources needed to sustain and activate vital green spaces across all five boroughs.
