Addressing New York City’s lifeguard shortage
New York City’s lifeguard shortage is not only a recreational equity issue, but a serious public health and safety concern that will only increase with the effects of climate change. Since 2023, with seed funding from Revson, the YMCA of Greater New York has led the NYC Interorganizational Lifeguard Task Force to coordinate action to improve recruitment, certification, and the overall aquatics ecosystem.

The New York City Leaders Fellowship prepares the future generation of NYC public service leaders by providing a group of talented undergraduates with the background training and direct hands-on experience they need to achieve leadership positions in public service in New York City.
Reimagining New York City’s Public Libraries
For more than 15 years, Revson has supported efforts to re-imagine New York City’s 219 public library branches.
