Dr. Steven Hyman is director of the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and a core institute member of the Broad. He is also Distinguished Service Professor of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University. He previously served as provost of Harvard University and director of the US National Institute of Mental Health. He chairs the board of the Charles A. Dana Foundation. He has served as president of the Society for Neuroscience, the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, and was founding president of the International Neuroethics Society. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine; a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; the American Association for the Advancement of Science; and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
