Sylvia Abdullah graduated from Barnard College in May 2011 with a B.A. in history and human rights. She is an involved native New Yorker interested in projects that engage New York City youth, and she works with immigrants through the Mayor’s Office of Adult Education. She spent a summer participating in an international conflict resolution program in Geneva and London and was a delegate to the Northwestern University Conference on Human Rights. During college, she was a programmer for the Columbia New Student Orientation Program, on the editorial board of the Columbia Undergraduate Journal of South Asian Studies, and is a Barnard alumna admissions representative. Her previous work experience includes museum and public education. Sylvia joined the Charles H. Revson Foundation in July 2011.
